Minimalism In Islam

I like how minimalist lifestyle in a line with Islam shari'a.
Because everything that we do will be counted, every stuff we have, every behaviour, and etc.
This minimalist life taught us to carefully when we buy something.
If it just for wish, not need. We must not buy it.

On the Qur'an, Al-Isra' verse 27, Allah said :
إِنَّ ٱلْمُبَذِّرِينَ كَانُوٓا۟ إِخْوَٰنَ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ ۖ وَكَانَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ لِرَبِّهِۦ كَفُورًا
"In fact, the wasters are devoted brothers and devils are very disbelievers to their Lord."

This shows that waster is one of despicable deed, because the devils/syaitan is the one who invite people to do it. And the waster also counted as kufr for Allah's favor.

From Abu Hurairah, he said that the Prophet ﷺ said,
"Surely Allah supplies three things for you and is angry when you do three things. Allah is pleased if you worship Him and not associate Him with anything. And (Allah is pleased) if you hold on to Allah's whole rope, and you advise one another against the rulers who govern your affairs. Allah is angry if you are busy with rumors, many ask useless questions and waste your wealth. " (Hadith Muslim no.1715)

And I remember that most of the minimalist people are very strict to the goods they have. They use very less goods compared to other people. Example, for kitchenware they just have like 1 to 3 for each ware, and wash it right after used.
It's really simple indeed.

That also applicable for clothes. Extreme minimalist will just have 3 clothes of each kind, one to wear, one to wash, and one to drain. You know what more interesting? Rasulullah ﷺ already doin' it long time ago too.

Rasullullah ﷺ used to wear two pieces of clothing. The one which was worn above the waist is called “rida” and the one worn below the waist is called “izar.” (Ibn Sa’d, I, 452)
